I haven't updated in two weeks. Now is the time to say 'oops' with huge innocent eyes. But seriously, the school is killing me right now. So much homework, tests, essays to return and a book review to make. I still can't understand why I chose Annie Proulx novel collection for the review. It's tons of work and even though I loved the stories - especially Brokeback Mountain and The Mud Below - I'm considering doing something radical like reading a whole different book now when I have only three days until the deadline.
Oh, and my Torchwood book - Another Life by Peter Anghelides - finally came yesterday. I bought it online since no shop here in Finland sells them and I had to wait two weeks to get it. It's much better than I dared to hope actually. Too much Gwen for my taste and not nearly enough Ianto but still, it's good. Though I think they could've used a bit more flattering picture of John Barrowman on the cover, that man is amazingly handsome and the picture does no right to him. I'm on the page 83 now and the idea of Owen playing Second Reality amuses me - as does Ianto the giraffe head guy and Owen thinking that Ianto must be either a closet gay or prudish churchgoer.
I also squeed very loudly when Ianto was described:
It wasn't like him (Ianto) to touch Owen, to touch any of them really. The lad could throw the Torchwood SUV into a hairpin turn, knock a Weevil down with a well-placed blow, and run a hundred metres like Christian Malcolm. But he wasn't the sort to put a comforting arm around someone or punch them playfully on the arm, and he'd die rather than hug you.
